Riffe Rearrested for Trespassing Hours After Release

🔊 Listen · narrated by Aiden

Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 43-year-old Dane D. Riffe for Criminal Trespass 1st Degree at 4:20 a.m. on September 1, 2026, after he repeatedly returned to businesses he had been trespassed from, despite being warned he would be arrested if he returned.

Riffe was released from jail on his own recognizance by Spokane County Superior Court at 6:00 p.m. on August 31, 2026, after being held since August 28 on charges of Burglary 2nd Degree and Theft 3rd Degree. During the night, employees of three businesses on S. Geiger Boulevard warned him to leave, told him he was trespassed, and said he would be arrested if he returned. Deputies released him each time due to lack of probable cause, but arrested him at 4:20 a.m. after he returned to a business he had been trespassed from and was still on the property.

Riffe was booked back into Spokane County Jail for Criminal Trespass 1st Degree. The incident highlights how businesses and law enforcement handle repeated trespassing incidents, with deputies needing probable cause to make an arrest after multiple warnings.
