Smoke Ready Week Promotes Wildfire Smoke Preparedness

Spokane Regional Clean Air Agency and Spokane Regional Health District are promoting Smoke Ready Week from June 1-5 to help residents prepare for wildfire smoke season.

The agencies released daily tips covering health risks, staying informed, reducing exposure, and mental health impacts of wildfire smoke. Dr. Francisco Velázquez, SRHD Health Officer, emphasized that wildfire smoke affects physical, mental, and psychological health, urging residents to take steps ahead of time.
