Spokane County Declares State of Emergency

Spokane County Board of Commissioners unanimously declared a State of Emergency due to wildfires, forcing evacuations of thousands. The Spokane County Fair and Expo Center in Spokane Valley is accepting evacuated RVs, livestock, and pets, with Red Gate off Broadway Avenue as the access point.

Superior, District, and Municipal Courts issued Emergency Order No. 2026-01, continuing most civil and criminal trials scheduled for Aug. 3-7 to Aug. 10. Jury trials are canceled until at least Aug. 10, but in-custody first appearances and emergency hearings will proceed.
