Spokane County Launches New Alert System

πŸ”Š Listen Β· narrated by Aiden

Spokane County Emergency Management has partnered with Regroup Mass Notification to launch a new public alert system for emergencies in the greater Spokane County area. The system will deliver notifications about fires, law enforcement activity, and other emergencies to residents who subscribe.

Residents are urged to register at ALERT Spokane to receive emergency alerts. Without registration, individuals not at home during a fire or other emergency will not be notified. The county recommends preparing a 'GO BAG' with essentials including money, important documents, water, pet supplies, medications, and change of clothing.

Evacuation levels are defined as follows: Level 1 means 'Get Ready to Leave,' Level 2 means 'Get Set to Leave,' and Level 3 means 'Go, Leave Now, Leave Immediately.' For Level 3 alerts, residents must evacuate immediately as emergency services may not be able to assist.
