The Spokane Valley City Council approved the installation of traffic signals at the intersection of 10th Avenue and Francis Street during Tuesday's meeting.
The decision follows a safety review by the Spokane Valley Public Works department, which identified the intersection as having a high number of near-misses and minor collisions. The council approved the project with a 5-0 vote.
Construction is expected to begin in early September and will take approximately two weeks to complete.
