Spokane Valley Man Booked for Brandishing BB Gun at Precinct

πŸ”Š Listen Β· narrated by Aiden

A Spokane Valley man was booked into jail after appearing to load a realistic BB gun replica near the Spokane Valley Precinct on July 25, 2026.

Deputy observed 46-year-old Justin A. Thompson pulling a Sig Sauer-style BB gun from his backpack, inserting a magazine, and racking the slide near the secured law enforcement parking area at approximately 5:25 p.m. Thompson denied he was attempting to ambush the officer, but admitted he was trying to gain a deputy's attention by playing with the gun while waiting for someone to come out of the building.

Thompson was charged with Brandishing/Intimidating with a Weapon and Making False Statements to a Public Servant. He was booked into Spokane County Jail after initially providing a false name.
