Spokane County has launched a new alert system called Regroup to replace its previous public notification service. The system, now named ALERT Spokane, will provide emergency alerts and warnings to residents.
Residents are urged to complete the registration form on the county website to receive notifications about incidents near their homes. The form allows users to select specific areas and types of alerts they wish to receive.
The county's website notes that residents can also register for alerts in neighboring counties including Kootenai, Pend Oreille, Stevens, and Whitman. The new system is part of ongoing efforts to improve emergency communication in the region.
